I've always considered myself a biker from very early on.
The very first time I had a ride on a bike was a friend's Casal 50, back in the Seventies. I was only eight or nine years old and even though I was only young, at the time, I knew I was hooked. Since then I have owned and ridden many different types of bike, ranging from Japanese models such as Honda's VF750F through to my latest machine, a British bike, the Triumph Trophy 900.

The Triumph Trophy is classed as a touring machine and performs very well as such. It comes supplied with dual colour coordinated panniers (detachable) and a full fairing with a flip screen which affords the rider good protection in all weathers. The Trophy is available with two engine choices, the smooth 1200cc 4cyl. engine, or the responsive and characteristic 900 triple that Triumph are well renowned for. At 235kg the Trophy isn't light, but at speed it is surprisingly agile and I feel very confident throwing it into tight corners. At slow speeds, due to its weight distribution, it can be a bit daunting and the best way to describe the feeling is 'Top heavy ', therefore, care has to be taken to avoid dropping the machine. This is a characteristic of most tourers I've experienced.
The Trophy has an excellent riding position as well as a very comfortable pillion seat. A Givi top box attached to my Triumph rack makes a convenient back rest for the passenger as well as being able to store both crash helmets, and I have an extended screen for longer journeys. A Touring Scottoiler is fitted to prolong the life of the chain and for security, the bike is datatagged with a Triumph Veto alarm/immobiliser also fitted.
